FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS BEGIN!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL VIKING ATHLETES ON THEIR REGULAR SEASON! PLAYOFFS BEGIN NEXT WEEK AND WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO SOME EXCELLENT COMPETITION FROM OUR VIKES!
THE JR BOYS FOOTBALL FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME WAS FANTASTIC, UPSETTING THE SECOND PLACE KODIAKS YESTERDAY... HERE IS COACH HUNTERS ANNOUNCEMENT FROM VTV.....
The Viking junior football team played their best game of the season yesterday defeating the 4-1 second place Bear Creek Kodiaks 8-0. The Vikings installed a brand new JUMBO offence for the game which proved to be the difference for the offence. Lead by bone-crushing runs by the fullback tandem of Isiah Miller and Kevin Easton and outstanding blocking by the entire "O" line the vikings dominated the Kodiak defence all day. Not to be outdone, the Viking defence led was outstanding again - shutting out the opposition for the third time this year. A key interception by Alex Bolhaar late in the game sealed the victory for the Vikings. No practice tonight boys, get some well needed rest and recovery for next week's playoff game against the Innisdale Invaders on Tuesday.

EXCELLENT ADVENTURE
The Viking Junior football team had another "excellent adventure" yesterday as they beat the Collingwood Fighting Owls 10-0. The viking defence was stellar limiting the Owl offence to less then 100 total yards and collecting 6 turnovers including interceptions by Alex Bohlar, Riley Leech, and Nick Whalen. Chris Thomas played his best game of the season including a bone-crushing tackle and fumble recovery behind the line of scrimmage that gave the viking offence the ball on the Owl 7 yard line. The lone touchdown was scored by Nate Gaggio with a two point conversion by Aiden Stanley. However the viking offence was their own worst enemy for most of the game accummulating 100 yards of penalties and coughing up the ball a half dozen times. The top player on offence was Kevin Easton who played an outstanding game at guard. Practice tonight boys, lets start getting prepared to meet the undefeated Bear Creek Kodiaks next Thursday.

Viking Football - A Tough Start to the Season
Our Offence moved the times...Eastview has a great defence...but North showed sparks at times. |
Defensively...we held them for 3 quarters. This is an inexperienced team that has given up big plays. |
Pre-game...anything can happen. |

JR VB VIKES
Congratulations to Riley Watson, Coach Grace and the Junior Boys Volleyball Team on their success against J.O.A. Yesterday. The team looked strong in the four game series. Grade 10 Veterans and Grade 9 Rookies all making a contribution to the team's wins.
Young "Vickers" had a 5 point serving series when I passed through the gym. Rookie Mike McColm had some great plays at the net. Well done Vikes!
Many thanks to our Grade 11 student Riley Watson who has taken on the JR Vikes in a Coaching Role. Riley's leadership, as a young athlete herself, is a fantastic example of Viking Spirit at Barrie North Collegiate.

ENWRIGHT INSPIRES !!
As you walk through the gym doors everyday after school you will find coach Enwright working with the SR GIRLS BASKETBALL players, inspiring hard work, dedication and teamwork. The Girls Basketball team has played two games so far this season and unfortunately lost each game but it has definitely not been from lack of trying. Every girl on the floor was putting in a solid effort against St. T's this afternoon. Good Luck with the rest of your season athletes and coaches!

GOLF SEASON
Sr.Boys Golf
Barrie North's finest travelled to Bracebridge on Tuesday for the GB Golf Championships. With 110 golfers in the field your "Vikings" finished with a team combined score of 333, which was only 8 strokes away from a trip to OFSSA. Both Cody Kotva and Luke Shaule shot 81, placing them tied for 8th, while the rest of team put forth excellent rounds of golf on a beautiful course with near insane pin placements. The Vikings finished fourth behind only Gravenhurst, St.Teresa's and dreaded Eastview Wildcats. Congratulations on a great season.
Thanks to Coach Seca & Coach Laurin for thier time coaching this year!
